Junior Programs

Why should your kids play golf?

  • Anyone can play: Golfers come in all shapes, sizes and ages. There are no specific body types required to play golf!
  • Regular Exercise: You might think that golf isn't an intense game, but you can walk up to 9000 steps and burn up to 2000 calories in a single game of golf!
  • Time spent outdoors: In today's flurry of video games, digital media and tech gadgets, it can be hard to get your son or daughter outdoors and off the couch. Golf is the perfect place to enjoy nature and the outdoors while having tons of fun!
  • Making friends: Golf is an excellent way to meet new people and develop lifelong friendships!
  • Important life lessons: Golf is a sport that will teach your children core values such as, integrity, discipline, respect, fair play, sportsmanship, confidence, emotional control and resiliency! As they learn to conduct themselves on the golf course, these lessons will translate directly into everyday life proving to be beneficial for their social development.
  • Athlete Development: Golf is also the perfect because it compliments other sports such as hockey, soccer, basketball and many more. How? Golf focuses on developing similar physical abilities like, speed, agility, balance, coordination and power.
  • Fun: Best of all, your son or daughter will have a great time!

Program Objectives

Our goal is to ensure your child has fun and enjoys their time spent on the golf course. We welcome any juniors from 7-18 years of age, regardless of their prior experience or ability level… that’s what we're here for! Our junior golfers will learn skills that will transpire to other sports they may play and other facets of their lives outside of sport. Unlike other programs, we won't just teach your child to swing a club, but we will teach them about all other areas of golf, including reading greens, club selection and how to be mentally strong.

Program Overview

The program consists of weekly clinics on Monday mornings lasting 8 weeks. This program includes, 6 clinic sessions, a national skills contest, a junior club championship, a chance to compete on the junior interclub team, match play competition*, and our annual Jr & Sr closing tournament/award banquet. Your junior will be taught based on their level of development and prior experience.

*Based on the number of entries

Weekly Clinics:

The clinics last about an hour (times to be confirmed) and will focus on developing golf skills, based on your child's ability level. There will be 5 stations total: putting, chipping, pitching, bunker play and driving range (full swing). Your child will go through 2 stations per day/clinic and rotate to 2 new stations every week.

Your child will be taught based on the levels below. These different levels have been adapted from the Long Term Athlete Development model, created by Canadian Sport for Life and modified by Golf Canada. You can find a copy of their model on their website:

Girl's Club

We like to put our female golfers in one group (depending on how many there are) because development ages in relation to levels of learning are different then boys. Girls generally develop quicker than the boy. By placing them in their own group, we can properly tailor our program to their development needs. Generally speaking, they will also feel more comfortable surrounded by other female golfers and it's a great opportunity to make new friends! Like the boys, we will develop them on the levels described below.
