The Hawkesbury Golf Course

The golf course is a classic, tree-lined layout renowned for its difficult, elevated greens that place a premium on the short game. The narrow entrances into many of the greens require the proper placement of drives and length is not always rewarded.

Hawkesbury boasts four par 3 holes that each call on different aspects of a golfers game. The 225 yard No. 2 hole requires length and accuracy to a small elevated green, while the 141 yard No. 12 hole is played slightly downhill with out-of-bounds on one side, a steep slope away on the other and wind a frequent factor in club selection.

The par 5 No. 7 hole is likely the signature hole at Hawkesbury. A dogleg to the left, the big hitters are often tempted to cut the corner by playing across the creek running down the entire left side of the fairway. The angle of approach to the 7th green is critical as the green is long and narrow and slopes right to left.

In summary, every hole poses different challenges but also great rewards. The biggest reward is completing the round and recounting your game on the balcony overlooking the 18th green.
